Updates and Announcements

Parking Alert: 5/11/01 Update

  • While Ward Gate is open, the Mc Quaid lot is for resident clergy, Chapel Court has minimal spaces most or which are full by 8 AM by staff who begin their day early, and the Ward Gate Entrance is not a thoroughfare. Sixty to seventy cars have had to be turned around and directed out of that area every morning.
  • The Summer Shuttle is picking passengers up on the on the WEST side of the train station in the circle by the Municipal lot. Campus drop off and pick up point is at the corner of Madison and Seton, between Duffy Hall and the Library. The Shuttle is being operated by Public Safety and Security for the summer, not Housing and Residence Life. For questions, please call 973 761 9300. The shuttle begins operating at 6:30 AM and runs continuously all day M-F. Last Shuttle leaves campus at 7:10 PM.
  • Any one planning extended or over night trips or group meetings are reminded not to have participants leave their cars on campus while attending their meeting or trip.
  • South Orange Avenue is PERMIT PARKING ONLY. Permits are issued by the Village of South Orange not Seton Hall although the applications are available in our Parking Services office in Duffy Hall.
  • A temporary parking lot is being created in the front lawn area of the University Center. This area will only be used as overflow and guards will direct people to park there only in the event the main lots are full.
  • People have been asking for directions to Crest Drive, South Mountain Reservation. These will be included in announcements prior to our using this area on specific dates. Students will NOT be directed to park there. We are planning to use the South Mountain Reservation area in a very planned and synchronized fashion.
  • Student Carpools: All students making up a student summer carpool must be registered for summer classes in order to qualify for the incentive.
  • Incentive offers will end Friday, May 18, 2001.

Your patience and continued cooperation is greatly appreciated!
