- The Water-soluble Relief Ink is
available in many colors. If you wish to print intaglio and relief
images this presents an ideal opportunity provided a separate plate is
used for the relief ink and that the water based inks are printed
first.
- A new multi-color printing technique
that Keith Howard developed involves purchasing dry pigments and
mixing these pigments with premixed wall paper paste. The pigments are
mixed with the paste to any color that you wish. These colors are then
painted on to thin Lexan sheets which are identical in size to the
last intaglio black etching inked plate. Because the Lexan is
transparent it is possible to place these plates over a drawing or
image and be quite calculating in where the color is applied to the
plate. The colored paste is allowed to dry and many other additional
plates can be used similarly. These plates are printed first with the
dampened paper that redisolves the dried colored paste The last plate
to be printed is the oil based etching inked plate.
